Urge your lawmakers to support clean car legislation in IllinoisMay 12, 2008 - Illinois has the opportunity to lead the Midwest in ensuring all new passenger cars and light-duty trucks will emit lower levels of global warming and other air pollutants while improving public health, and saving Illinois consumers money at the pump. Arizona Adopts Clean Cars StandardMay 6, 2008 - Arizona has become the fourteenth state in the country to adopt "Clean Car" standards. Arizona joined four western/southwestern states and nine states on the East Coast to adopt California's stricter vehicle emissions standards, including the regulation that limits carbon dioxide pollution. ELPC is a lead supporter of Illinois' proposed clean cars bill that is currently pending in the state legislature. Minnesota is also considering the standards.

This year's quiz featured questions and answers about the electronic waste recycling bill that recently passed the Illinois Senate, as well as a few upcoming environmental events. Listen to the show. Program DescriptionELPC has taken a leading role in promoting sustainable business strategies and practices in the Midwest. ELPC has consistently demonstrated that environmnetal progress and economic development go hand in hand. Some of ELPC's key initiatives on this front include building support for low-emission vehicle legislation, passing legislation requiring recycling or reuse of electronic waste, promoting energy efficient building code legislation and educating the restaurant industry on how to reduce their environmental footprint. |
